Jillian Brown began singing and dancing around the age of 4 and has not stopped since! She began studying private voice at age 12. She attended Louisiana State University in 2002 and graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance in 2005. She loves all genres of music from classical to musical theater to more contemporary. While in Louisiana she taught at Joyful Noise Performance Studio. She has led worship for churches, performed various roles in numerous shows and participated in regional and national competitions. She became a certified music teacher in Texas in 2008 and worked in school districts as a classroom and private teacher.
Her students’accomplishments include receiving roles in local musicals, receiving top ratings at contest, auditioning for top choirs and show choirs, performing in talent shows, leading worship at church, and making the All-State Choir. She learned a great deal from her voice teacher at LSU, Dr.Loraine Sims. She is always seeking ways to better understand the voice, its functions, and the best and most healthy way to sing and teach singers. Her philosophy of teaching is to train healthy and well-rounded singers so that they may pursue whatever style of music is most enjoyable to them. She believes that learning good technique is crucial to becoming a singer for life.
She is eager to work with her new students and begin a journey of learning music together and finding the joy that it brings. We are grateful she is on staff at the LAC and a member at FBCL.
