We are offering at least TWO...sometimes THREE Masterclasses during every week of our Summer Session.
You can choose to Register for our Bundle Of Masterclasses.....which includes 8 Masterclasses at a discounted rate. If you register for the Bundle, then when you receive your confirmation email you will be able to reserve and select the 8 Masterclasses you want to attend.
You can also register for our Masterclasses individually.
We have limited the number of students in our Masterclasses to help wit social distancing and to keep our students safe.
All Masterclasses are taught by our professional teachers.
June 3rd 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Face Painting/Stage Make Up (Jennifer Shelby) Come explore the world of Face Paint with our very own Mrs. Jennifer Shelby. Come learn how to transform your face and others with this creative art form. Don't miss out!
June 8 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Broadway Song and Dance (Kelsey Jordan) Groups get into the Broadway “state-of-mind” during this masterclass, where they learn an authentic Broadway Song & Dance combination from a Broadway “triple threat” and a vocal coach. The group rehearses and perfects the vocals and choreography to a classic Broadway routine.
June 10 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ The Art of Improv (Emily Emmett) This workshop focuses on the basics of improv, through games and exercises. Concepts include spontaneity, listening, storytelling, status, and making one’s partner look good. This fun and exciting class helps to teach how to think on your feet, and be funny doing so. No prior experience necessary!
June 22 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Triple Threat (Emily Emmett) Come explore acting, singing and dancing in a fun environment. You will learn a fun combination, scene and song from a Broadway musical. Come explore your inner thespian!
June 24 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Tap 101 (Kelsey Jordan) Want to make some noise? This entry level class is ideal for those who are returning to Tap after taking some time off or anyone who is new to tap. Whether you need a refresher, return to basics kind of a class or wanting to put into practice what you've recently learned, this class presents the basic rhythms and combinations which are the foundation of this incredibly fun dance genre.
July 19 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Costume Design (Elizabeth Kerns) Have you ever wanted to learn how to create costumes from scratch? Then this is the class for you! In this class, you will learn how to create a costume from your creative mind. You will first sketch your character and then build a costume board. You will also learn the basic skills used in developing our creative costumes.
July 20 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Musical Theater Singing (Jen Freeman) Come learn some healthy vocal habits every singer should have. In this class you will learn how to balance and blend all of your vocal registers, how to support your voice effectively, how to build power in your voice and how to develop the healthiest ways to sing in the various MT styles, from legit to belt. This is a must take class for those involved in our Musical Theatre Classes.
July 22 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Musical Theater Dance (Kendall Lannin or Emily or Kelsey) In this course, students will follow along to learn basic musical theater dance steps. Musical theater can encompass all styles of dance (jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, and lyrical) and brings them together with different music. Musical theater dancing is about interpreting the music and being able to use your emotion to express the dance move even more. Throughout the whole class, we will dance along to popular broadway soundtracks. This is a great course for students who want to try out a different style of dance, or who have tried musical theater before and just want to take an extra dance class! This is an introduction course, so all ability levels are welcome!
July 29 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Contemporary/Pop Singing (Kimberly Willis) Do you want to be a pop star or learn how to sing contemporary musical theater? Come explore your voice in this class. You will learn how to extend your range, how to get more volume and power, how to smooth out any vocal breaks, how to prepare for auditions and gigs, how to sing without straining, proper mic technique, and how to balance tone and resonance.
August 3 ~ 10:00 to 11:30 ~ Fall 2021 Theatre Audition Workshop (Fall 2021 MT Faculty) In this class, you will receive one on one coaching with our directors. You will receive helpful suggestions on how to improve your audition. You will also learn about how to properly and successfully audition.
