Private Music Lessons Do I need my own instrument?:We supply drums & piano, all others will need to bring their instrument for lessons. May I watch my child's lessons?:It depends on the instructor. As a general rule, students show more improvement and better behavior when the parent is not present in the room. Parents are welcome to attend a lesson from time to time in order to observe the teaching situation. Siblings and other friends are not to attend lessons with the student, but may wait in the lobby area of the building. Will their be a recital?: Yes. We have one annual recital in May. Students are encouraged to participate, but not required. Do I need to bring my own instrument?: Yes. All teachers will assign practice for home. A keyboard is fine for piano lessons. (Exception: you do not necessarily need a full drum set for drum lessons.) What if my child is sick and cannot make a lesson? We ask that you contact the teacher directly (not through the academy director or the church office). All of our teachers are welcome to give you their personal cell phone numbers. Only ONE make up lesson will be offered per term. Any other missed lessons, fees will be forfeited. What is your attendance/make-up policy? Your lesson time is reserved especially for you, therefore advanced notice is required for absence from any lesson. Due to our teachers' busy schedules, please refrain from rescheduling and keep your appointed lesson time. If you need to reschedule, please give at least 24 hours advance notice. If you are absent due to illness or a serious emergency, please contact the teacher as soon as you know that you will not be able to attend the appointed lesson. One make-up lesson per semester/per student, will be permitted if prior notice is given, at a mutually agreed upon time with the teacher. It is your responsibility to schedule your make-up lesson with the teacher. If a student fails to give resonable notice in advance, the lesson in question may be forfeited. Please understand that you will be charged and expected to pay for lessons offered, not lessons received.

Then they will take home their script from rehearsal, so they will immediately be able to begin learning their part.
